Tom Brady Admits To This Mistake From Legendary Netflix Roast

Tom Brady has had just over a year to reflect on his wildly popular and raunchy Netflix roast.

And it seems the legendary quarterback wouldn’t do something like it again due to the impact it had on his three children.

“There’s some things as a parent you (expletive) up and you don’t realize until after,” Brady said during Tuesday’s episode of Impaulsive, as transcribed by The Boston Globe’s Sarah Mesdjian.

Brady was the butt of jokes for three hours, much of which dove right into his personal life. Comedians repeatedly took uncensored shots at Brady’s ex-wife Gisele Bündchen and the couple’s divorce. Bündchen’s romantic relationship with jiu-jitsu instructor Joaquim Valente was aired out during the roast as well.

And Brady’s kids didn’t take kindly to it, with jokes being consumed by two million viewers on the night it debuted, per Forbes.

“It felt like a stake through the heart,” Brady said. “They were just like, ‘Why did you do that?'”

Brady added: “They’re protective of their mom, their dad, of everybody. You don’t mind yourself hurting, you don’t want to see your parents hurt, you don’t want to see your kids hurt.”

While Brady certainly didn’t like the negative affect the roast had on his children, he doesn’t fully regret the entire roast experience.

“I love laughing at myself. It felt like I was in a locker room,” Brady said. “It was electric. … We got done, everybody was on cloud nine. I think that moment, I’ll never forget.”
