Tottenham receive update on Antoine Semenyo situation from Fabrizio Romano

0 3

Fabrizio Romano has said that the race for Antoine Semenyo’s signature remains wide open, but has revealed one detail which could complicate Tottenham’s pursuit of the Bournemouth winger.

Not too many wingers in the Premier League have been as consistent as Semenyo over the last two seasons, with the Cherries man having taken his game to the next level over recent seasons.

He is exactly the kind of winger that Tottenham lack in their squad and that is perhaps why it has been widely reported that Spurs are determined to win the race for Antoine Semenyo this summer.

However, the Lilywhites are expected to face competition from the Ghana international, with some sources stating that some of the biggest Premier League clubs are monitoring Semenyo ahead of the summer.

Fabrizio Romano provides Antonio Semenyo update

Romano has confirmed that the 25-year-old is indeed on the summer shopping list of many clubs, not just in England but also across Europe.

That is not the only complication Tottenham Hotspur would have to deal with in their pursuit of Antoine Semenyo, with the transfer guru explaining that Bournemouth might change their stance as they might lose other key players this summer.

When asked about Semenyo’s future, Romano told GiveMeSport: “There are many clubs interested around Europe and in the Premier League for sure. But it all depends on Bournemouth as they’re already likely to lose Huijsen and Kerkez this summer.”

Tottenham will have to break the bank to land Semenyo

Apart from the two potential barriers that Romano puts forward, Tottenham are also dealing with another potential roadblock: a financial one.

It was reported a few days ago that Bournemouth value Semenyo at £60m and will not entertain offers below that amount.

That would make the wide-man one of the most expensive signings in Spurs history, and it is not a deal that the North London club may be able to afford this summer, given that Tottenham’s financial problems are well-documented.
