Take Your Pick: More In-House Red Sox Solutions At First Base
The Boston Red Sox need a real plan at first base with Triston Casas out for the remainder of the 2025 season.
Early struggles can blur the vision, but the Red Sox are more than capable of going on a deep playoff run in the American League. To still do that, Boston cannot afford to waste time in this transition or just get by with an insufficient platoon pairing.
If Boston chooses to find an internal solution, what will the Red Sox do? And where do Roman Anthony and Marcelo Mayer (eventually) factor into the lineup? That could fluctuate down the stretch, but the changes need to start now.
Several options swirled in recent days. Here’s what the lineup looks like for those and maybe a new option or two for the Red Sox.
