Johnly Yfeko leaves Rangers for Exeter City
Exeter City have triggered the option that was in Johnly’s original loan from Rangers, so he is now a permanent member of the squad having signed on for two years. Johnly joined City back in the summer of 2024 and made 13 appearances but a couple of hamstring injuries meant he didn’t feature for the Grecians after January. Johnly has been
impressive in the red and white, and has delighted City fans. He also earned 4 yellow cards, where referees were unhappy with his combative style. The deal is for an undisclosed fee and is for two years.
Gary Caldwell said on the signing:-
I think when we saw him start the season everyone was amazed that we had that clause and he’s got another two-years at the club but obviously the two injuries he’s had the big setbacks this year that we’ve not seen enough of them.
I spoke to Johnly today and said he has every tool at his disposal to be a top, top player now he has to make sure he stays on the pitch next year. He’s professional, he’s consistent with his work because his ceiling is huge for what he can achieve in his career and we’re delighted to sign him this summer.
