Tottenham pals Lucas Moura, Erik Lamela and Kieran Trippier react as Harry Kane wins first trophy

0 1

Lucas Moura, Erik Lamela and Kieran Trippier have now sent messages to Harry Kane after the ex-Tottenham man secured his first major trophy.

Tottenham Hotspur would be hoping that the footballing gods look down on them this season, as they have with Newcastle United and Harry Kane.

Newcastle United had not won a major domestic honour in 70 years, but managed to lift one this season after beating high-flying Liverpool in the Carabao Cup.

Then there was Harry Kane, who, despite all his goalscoring brilliance, had remained without a trophy for a significant part of his career, until Bayern Munich secured the Bundesliga title after last year’s winners Bayer Leverkusen were held to a 2-2 draw against SC Freiburg.

While Spurs supporters continue to dream, they will have looked on with admiration and a touch of envy, as their former number ten finally lifted silverware abroad.

Former Tottenham players react to Harry Kane’s Bundesliga title win

Tottenham Hotspur fans have sent their congratulatory messages to Harry Kane, and now a few former Spurs players have followed suit under the forward’s latest Instagram post.

Kieran Trippier, who was part of the Newcastle United side that beat Liverpool in the Carabao Cup final, and played with Kane for both Tottenham and England, was naturally among those replying when the striker took to Instagram to celebrate the victory.

Lucas Moura and Erik Lamela, who are part of the 63 Tottenham players to leave the club and later win silverware, also took to social media to congratulate the Tottenham record goalscorer.

Under the post, Trippier wrote: “Congrats bro.” Lucas Moura added: “You deserve it brother. Congrats! Very happy for you.” While Lamela commented: “Congrats Harry !! You deserve much more than this ! Enjoy brother.”

Spurs hoping for silverware after Harry Kane ends drought

With the footballing gods doing Harry Kane justice, Tottenham would be hoping for a similar outcome later this month, if they manage to make it to the Europa League final.

As it stands, Bodo/Glimt are the only obstacle in their path to another European final since that painful UEFA Champions League defeat to Liverpool, a game Spurs lost 2-0.

While Tottenham fans will be hoping for the best, the club’s latest mini injury crisis is not helping matters, as Lucas Bergvall is now set to miss the rest of the season, while James Maddison looks to have picked up a serious injury too, which could sideline him for the remainder of the campaign.

Indeed, it will not be easy for Tottenham, but one thing is certain – winning silverware would bring immense joy to the faces of Spurs fans who have waited nearly two decades for a trophy.
