Where Bruins Will Pick In Round 1 After 2025 NHL Draft Lottery
The Boston Bruins didn’t get any help in the NHL draft lottery on Monday night.
The Bruins ended up receiving the seventh overall pick in the draft — the lowest pick they could have got — after finishing the season with the fifth-worst record in the league at 33-39-10. The Original Six franchise entered the night with an 8.5% chance to obtain the first overall selection, which was the fifth-best odds in the field, and had the same chances to get the second overall pick. Boston’s best odds were for the sixth pick at 44.7% and the Bruins had a 13.5% for the seventh pick.
It was a big night for the New York Islanders as they won the lottery to get the first overall pick. The Islanders had just a 3.5% to land the top pick. You can see the entire results from the lottery below:
1. New York Islanders
2. San Jose Sharks
3. Chicago Blackhawks
4. Utah Hockey Club
5. Nashville Predators
6. Philadelphia Flyers
7. Boston Bruins
8. Seattle Kraken
9. Buffalo Sabres
10. Anaheim Ducks
11. Pittsburgh Penguins
12. New York Rangers
13. Detroit Red Wings
14. Columbus Blue Jackets
15. Vancouver Canucks
16. Montreal Canadiens
It will be an all-important offseason and potentially franchise-altering draft for the Bruins. They will look to add a future cornerstone piece to their core of David Pastrnak, Charlie McAvoy and Jeremy Swayman.
It was the first time in a decade the Bruins were a part of the draft lottery. It is also the first time the Bruins will select in the top seven of the draft since they took Tyler Seguin with the second pick in 2010.
The NHL draft will take place beginning June 27 from Los Angeles.
