Wee Hibees Travel To Rangers

0 3

The Wee Hibees travel to Glasgow on Tuesday evening to take on their closest title challengers!

Our CAS Elite Under-18 League fixture against Rangers will kick-off at 4pm at the Rangers Training Centre.

The Lowdown

Darren McGregor's side are currently top of the CAS Elite Under-18 League, sitting on 62 points after 27 games.

The Under-18s are unbeaten since the beginning of the split fixtures – winning six and drawing just once.

That draw came against Tuesday's opposition at HTC two weeks ago, before a sixth post-split victory was earned against Queen's Park last Friday.

Dean Cleland smashed four goals past Queen's Park at the Lochinch Sports Pavilion to help guide the Hibees to a 5-1 win, with Josh McDonald also getting on the scoresheet.

The Hosts

Rangers currently trail the wee Hibees by just three points - making Tuesday's battle at the top a critical clash with only three league matches of the season remaining.

The home team have not played a league match since our most recent meeting on Friday 26 April at HTC, which ended in a 1-1 draw.

Despite this, many Rangers Under-18 players competed in the Glasgow Cup versus Celtic last Monday.

Rangers defeated their arch rivals on penalties to lift the trophy after playing out a 1-1 draw at Firhill Stadium.

Head-To-Head

The two title-chasing teams have come across each other three times in the league this season.

The wee Hibees worked hard to earn a 2-2 draw at HTC in September despite being two goals behind.

Rangers earned victory back in December, sealing a 2-0 win. Though our most recent battle ended in another draw.

Facing off at HTC almost a fortnight ago, the two sides each walked away with a point following a 1-1 draw.

Luke Davidson had excellently fired Hibs ahead, before a late Rangers penalty levelled proceedings.

How To Watch

We do not advise supporters travel through to Tuesday's match at the Rangers Training Centre as they may not be permitted entry to the ground.

It is likely only parents of the playing squad will be allowed into the stadia.
