Red Sox Miss Opportunities, Fall In Rubber Match To Twins
In a familiar story, the Boston Red Sox could not get things going on Sunday afternoon in the rubber match against the Minnesota Twins, falling 5-4 in the 3-game series finale. This is the ninth time this season that the Red Sox have lost a game by a single run, the most of any team in MLB.
The Twins pulled ahead late in the game on a Harrison Bader double that bounced off of shortstop David Hamilton’s glove and a Trevor Larnach single on a 1-2 pitch by Justin Slaten. Wilyer Abreu home run in the bottom of the eighth inning, but no one else was able to score
