The Barbados Football Association’s (BFA) Youth Football Tournament kicked off this morning, with 25 teams from across the island competing in three age categories.

Matches in the Under-13, Under-15, and Under-17 divisions were being played at Parkinson Field and Parkinson Community Centre; Blenheim “A” and “B”; Lumber Company, Bush Hall; and the BFA Technical Centre (Wildey Turf and Phillip Blagrove Training Pitch), all in St Michael. Matches are also being played at Speightstown Playing Field, St Peter.

The BFA also announced the Under-9s and Under-11s will commence next week and the Under-16 girls’ competition will follow.

The 2025 BFA Youth Football Tournament will continue until November.

President Randy Harris said he was pleased to see youth football officially returning for 2025.

“The BFA Youth Football Tournament is a critical development platform that enables our young players to get out onto the pitch, week after week, and refine their skills against a variety of other young players and clubs,” he said.

“The BFA remains committed to providing our youth with opportunities that help them to thrive and reach their full potential, and to continue to create sustainable pathways to develop youth and grassroots football in Barbados.”
