Tottenham could explore part-exchange deal with Atletico Madrid this summer
Tottenham Hotspur are bracing for Atletico Madrid to make a move for both Cristian Romero and Rodrigo Bentancur this summer, but the North London club have come up with a plan to make the most of their interest by asking for one of the La Liga club’s players.
A number of outlets have talked up the possibility of the Tottenham vice-captain ending up at Metropolitano Stadium this summer amidst reports that Romero has said ‘yes’ to Atletico Madrid.
The centre-back is not the only Tottenham man on the Spanish side’s radar, with Atletico ready to pounce on Bentancur if Spurs are unable to tie him down to a new contract.
It turns out that the North London club have come up with a potential plan as they try to benefit from the La Liga club’s expected move for the former Juventus pair.

GiveMeSport say that should Atletico push ahead with a move for the Spurs duo, Tottenham may explore a move for Conor Gallagher.
The report claims that the North London club are refusing to rule out the possibility of attempting to bring the England international back to London, just 12 months on from his £36m switch from Chelsea.
Tottenham have retained a long-term interest in Gallagher and are keen on bolstering their options in the middle of the park this summer.
They could thus attempt to gauge if the 25-year-old will be open to a move to N17 after losing out to Atletico in the race for his signature last summer.

However, GiveMeSport say that despite Tottenham’s interest, Gallagher has been enjoying his time in Spain so far.
The former Chelsea man feels that he can be even better in his second season at the Spanish capital after a decent first campaign in Atletico colours.
The midfielder does not have an urge to immediately return to his homeland, with Tottenham Hotspur thus facing a battle in turning the Englishman’s head.
