Barcelona are plotting a move for £40m Man United forward
Barcelona are interested in signing Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford (h/t ipaper).
However, they are unwilling to pay his £40 million valuation, which could affect their negotiations with United.
Barcelona were linked with Rashford in the winter transfer window, but did not want to pay a substantial part of his salary.
The Spanish giants want to sign a wide forward who can also play as a striker this summer. Rashford fits the bill, so they may reignite their interest in him.
The England international has looked reborn since his loan move to Aston Villa in January, registering ten goal involvements in 17 games.
The 27-year-old has sustained a hamstring injury, which has ruled him out for the rest of the season.
Rashford may have played his last game for Unai Emery’s side as he is eyeing a move to Barcelona. He is ready to take a pay cut to join the Spanish side.
Rashford should snub Barcelona and join Villa
Barcelona have one of Europe’s best-attacking units, spearheaded by Raphinha, Lamine Yamal and Robert Lewandowski.
While they have signalled interest in Rashford, he will likely struggle to break into the starting line-up due to their form.
With Rashford eager to play for England at the 2026 World Cup, he must join a club where he is guaranteed to play regularly.
A permanent move to Villa could be best for him. He would play in a familiar environment and under a manager who believes in him.
Due to his brilliance for the Villans, he earned a recall into the Three Lions set-up. He can earn a permanent place in Thomas Tuchel’s plans if he moves permanently to Villa Park.
