Predicted Tottenham XI to face Bodo/Glimt in Europa League semi-final

0 7

Tottenham Hotspur return to Europa League action against Bodo/Glimt, and they would be hoping to secure a home victory before the return leg. Let’s take a look at our predicted Tottenham XI to face the Norwegian side on Thursday.

Tottenham Hotspur will resume their Europa League campaign this midweek, with Bodo/Glimt visiting the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Ange Postecoglou’s men will be aiming for a much-needed win that gives them a solid advantage to take into the second leg in Norway.

Bodo/Glimt are no pushovers – they have been in good form this season and remain unbeaten at home in the knockout stage of the Europa League so far, making this first leg in north London all the more important for Spurs.

Predicted Tottenham Hotspur XI to face Bodo/Glimt in the Europa League

Goalkeeper – Guglielmo Vicario: Ange Postecoglou will once again be relying on Vicario between the sticks, hoping for a composed and assured performance from the Italian.

Right-back – Pedro Porro: Porro was handed a rare rest against Liverpool, starting from the bench – a clear sign that he is firmly in Postecoglou’s plans for the Bodo/Glimt clash.

Centre-back – Cristian Romero: Romero, like Porro, sat out Sunday’s match against Arne Slot’s Liverpool, and we fully expect him back in the starting XI come Thursday night.

Centre-back – Micky van de Ven: Since returning from injury, Micky van de Ven has been saved for the bigger games, and with the importance of Thursday’s clash, he should return to the Tottenham XI.

Left-back – Destiny Udogie: It is a toss-up between Destiny Udogie and Djed Spence, but given recent performances, we fancy Udogie gets the nod for this crucial first leg.

Pivot midfielder – Lucas Bergvall: Bergvall has become a key figure for Tottenham in the heart of midfield in recent weeks, and it would be a big surprise if he doesn’t start on Thursday.

Central midfielder – Rodrigo Bentancur: Bentancur missed the clash against Liverpool, but Spurs will be hoping it was precautionary and that he is back fit for this vital Europa League tie.

Central midfielder – James Maddison: Maddison picked up a knock against Frankfurt in the last round but featured against Liverpool at the weekend – he should be ready to start here.

Left midfielder – Mathys Tel: If Heung-min Son isn’t fit enough to start, Mathys Tel should continue out on the left – the Tottenham youngster has impressed when given the chance.

Striker – Dominic Solanke: There could be a shake-up up top, particularly after Postecoglou decided to rest Richarlison against Liverpool – it could point to Dominic Solanke being in line for a start, or we could see a rested Richarlison back in the team.

Right midfielder – Dejan Kulusevski: Kulusevski is back fit, and given his strong showings this season, he should walk straight back into the Tottenham starting XI.
