Patriots Draftee Who Played With Will Campbell Offers Scouting Report

There’s some trepidation over the New England Patriots relying on Will Campbell to be their franchise left tackle for years to come.

Perhaps Bradyn Swinson, whom the Patriots drafted in the fifth round, can ease some of those concerns for New England fans.

Swinson, a 6-foot-4, 255-pound edge rusher, spent the last two seasons battling against Campbell on the practice field at LSU, getting an up-close experience at what made the offensive lineman the No. 4 overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft.

And Swinson is totally convinced already that Campbell has a long NFL career ahead of him.

“You all are going to expect the guy that isn’t going to let his quarterback get touched for sure,” Swinson told reporters, per team-provided transcript. “You all got a guy. That’s a blue-collar guy. Head down, working. Everything Will do is about work. Hard work. That’s a guy that’s going to do everything right.

“I know you all can tell by his voice, he’s going to be a 10-year vet. By his voice, he’s got one of those 15-year player voices already. He’s just one of those guys that you got that’s just going to keep his head down and work and just handle his business.”

Campbell said he is ready to “fight and die” in a Patriots uniform and is highly regarded as a culture builder and consummate leader.

It’s easy to see why Swinson is glad to be teammates with Campbell again. And Swinson has no problem following Campbell to New England.

“Just to be on the same team with Will again, is just — he’s an amazing player,” Swinson said. “It’s right back to battling how we used to do in the old days. We were at the same school for two years. It’s exciting to get back to work with him.”
