Man Utd ace with 45 games this term open to leaving for another club this summer, talks ongoing over exit

Saudi First Division League club Neom SC are showing concrete interest in signing Manchester United goalkeeper Andre Onana when the summer transfer window opens, according to French outlet Foot Mercato.

Major talks between the representatives of the Red Devils star and the club, who currently play in the second tier of the Saudi Arabian football system, have started, and the Cameroon international is open to the move.

However, it remains to be seen whether Neom and Onana will be able to reach an agreement in the coming months.

The 29-year-old has made 45 appearances across all competitions for the Old Trafford club so far this term but has come under criticism for his errors.

Man United head coach Ruben Amorim dropped Onana for the Premier League game against Newcastle United two weeks ago after his errors in the first-leg of their Europa League quarter-finals against Lyon.

Altay Bayindir took his place in goal against the Magpies to make his Premier League debut, but the former Inter Milan goalie has since been reinstated and is expected to finish the campaign as the first-choice goalie.

Onana could be replaced in the summer as Man United have reportedly been looking at potential goalkeepers capable of playing with confidence and less error-prone, and Amorim has a serious decision to make ahead of his first full season in charge.

The Cameroonian has committed eight errors leading to goals since joining the Red Devils from Inter in the summer of 2023, and replacing him could be necessary if Man United are serious about challenging for major trophies going forward.

Onana will not be short of suitors even in Europe once it becomes clear that the Red Devils are open to selling him ahead of his contract expiring in 2028, and getting good money for him will come in handy as the club looks to balance the books while buying players this summer.
