New Deal 'A Dream Come True' For Armitage
Rowena Armitage says it is a "dream come true" to sign her first professional contract with Hibernian Women.
Putting pen-to-paper on a new deal that will run until 2027, the 16-year-old becomes the first Academy star since Rosie Livingstone to sign a professional deal with the Club.
"I'm so excited, it's just a dream come true," Rowena told HibsTV. "I'm just delighted. So proud.
"It's something I've always wanted to do since I've been really young, so I'm just so happy.
"I can't wait, you know, just playing for Hibs is just like a dream. It's just amazing."
A childhood Hibee, the young goalkeeper was surrounded by delighted family members and friends after the contract extension was announced.
"They were so delighted for me, my whole family are Hibs supporters.
"And my friends know how much it means to me, so it was just a really great day."
Rowena is excited to continue her development at Hibs under the coaching staff that have brought her into the First Team squad and her current teammates.
"They've been so helpful. Stewart [Hall] has really brought me up into the squad from Academy, and then both Grant [Scott] and Joelle [Murray] have really helped me.
"The team are so great, you know, it's just great to be around them day in day out and just get to know them all.
"It's just so exciting. There's such a good energy around the girls right now.
"We have the last five games to give it our best push, to try and win."
