Ange Postecoglou provides positive injury update ahead of Liverpool vs Tottenham

Ange Postecoglou has now provided an injury update on the fitness of his Tottenham squad ahead of their clash against Liverpool.

After their 2-1 defeat against Nottingham Forest, which marked Spurs’ 18th Premier League loss of the season, Ange Postecoglou’s men are preparing for another daunting clash.

Spurs are set to visit Anfield this weekend to face a Liverpool side who could lift the Premier League trophy if they avoid defeat against the Lilywhites.

For Tottenham Hotspur, there is little left to play for, as they are sitting in 16th. Their season is all but over, and they’re only playing for pride, but that doesn’t make the trip to Liverpool any less challenging.

Coming into this match, Postecoglou is dealing with a few fitness concerns. Heung-min Son remains the only major absentee, with the Korean winger still nursing a foot injury that has kept him out of Spurs’ last two matches.

Radu Dragusin, still recovering from an ACL injury, is a long-term absentee. However, James Maddison and Destiny Udogie, who missed the Forest game on Monday, have both been declared fit and ready to play.

The Spurs boss told the club media team that everyone got through the defeat to Nottingham Forest without further injury, which comes as a huge boost for both the Liverpool and Bodo/Glimt game.

Unfortunately, Heung-min Son will not be back in time for Sunday’s fixture as he continues his rehab, although Postecoglou does admit he is ‘improving’.

Finally, the Tottenham boss hinted that he will rotate his team and protect certain players against Liverpool to ensure the squad is ready for a huge Europa League semi-final.
