Why LSU’s Will Campbell Loves Patriots Coach Mike Vrabel

Will Campbell has a strong chance to join the New England Patriots by the end of the night.

The LSU offensive tackle can fill a glaring need and one of importance to protect franchise quarterback Drake Maye. If his name is called with the No. 4 overall pick for the Patriots, that’s another important development in a busy offseason. New England connected with Campbell before and made an impression on one of the draft’s best offensive linemen.

Campbell spoke with FanDuel’s Kay Adams on Thursday and gave glowing praise to the organization just hours before the draft.

“We’ll see what happens,” Campbell said on the “Up and Adams” show. “They have a great organization, great staff. Coach Vrabel and those guys over there, they’ve done tremendous work in this league. I’ve had great interactions with them throughout this entire process. There’s a lot that can happen tonight, no tip of the hat or anything like that. I don’t know anything.”

“He’s my kind of guy,” Campbell added on Vrabel. “… He’s just like me.”

The Patriots go on the clock Thursday night in Green Bay.
