Man United move ahead of Tottenham in race for Bournemouth star

0 0

Man United have reportedly now moved to the front of the queue to land Antoine Semenyo, who is thought to be near the top of Tottenham’s wishlist for this summer’s transfer window.

Spurs are expected to add reinforcements in attack this summer and several names have already been mooted as potential transfer targets for the club, including an exciting Bournemouth winger.

Various sources have claimed over recent weeks that Tottenham have earmarked Antoine Semenyo as a top target for the summer on the back of his consistent displays over the last two seasons.

Some outlets have even suggested that Spurs have identified Semenyo as their ideal heir to Heung-min Son, who has just a year left on his current deal.

Man United favourites to beat Tottenham to Antoine Semenyo

However, Sky Sports have now revealed that while Tottenham are indeed keen on landing the Cherries star, it is Man United who are the current frontrunners for the winger’s signature.

The Red Devils have allegedly moved ahead of Tottenham, Liverpool and Arsenal in the queue to land Antoine Semenyo at the end of the campaign.

The 25-year-old has allegedly been identified as a key target by Ruben Amorim, who wants to rejig his side’s attack next season.

The Portuguese coach is said to be a ‘big admirer’ of the Ghana international and has presented ideas to the United hierarchy on how to deploy him in a new-look attack in his first full campaign in charge of the club.

Clubs will have to break the bank for Semenyo

Sky Sports point out that since Semenyo still has four years left on his contract, it will take a big offer to prise him away from the Vitality Stadium.

It is revealed that the South Coast club are expected to demand £70m from clubs who come calling for their star winger, but the publication suggests that there could be some room for negotiation.

It is explained that Bournemouth might accept a slightly lower fee with add-ons similar to the £65m Dominic Solanke sale to Tottenham Hotspur last summer.
