What Fleet Are Playing For Following Team USA’s Gold Medal Win
The Boston Fleet will be back in action this Saturday after the international break, and they’ll have plenty to play for in the final three games of the PWHL regular season.
Hilary Knight led Team USA to a dramatic overtime win over Team Canada in the 2025 Women’s World Championship in Czechia. It marked the United States and Fleet captain’s 10th gold medal in Women’s Worlds history, and she, Megan Keller and Aerin Frankel headed back stateside as they prepare to help Boston clinch a playoff spot.
The Fleet were third in the PWHL standings with 40 points. before the international break. The Montréal Victoire were the only team to clinch a postseason spot, so there are three more up for grabs.

Saturday’s game against the Sceptres at Tsognas Center will be huge for Boston since Toronto has 45 points heading into the matchup. A regulation win for Courtney Kessel’s side would help it gain ground for the No. 2 seed and home-ice advantage in the opening round of the PWHL playoffs.
The Ottawa Charge and Frost are behind the Fleet with 39 and 38 points, respectively. Boston plays Minnesota in its regular-season finale after a matchup against Montréal. The Fleet didn’t finish strong before the international break, losing three straight games and scoring as many goals during that stretch.
Two of Boston’s final three games are at home, so that should help it as it tries to secure a playoff spot for the second consecutive season.
Puck drop for Saturday’s game against Toronto at Tsongas Center is scheduled at 2 p.m. ET on NESN.
