Jaylen Brown Provides Health Update Before Celtics-Magic Series
The Celtics enter the NBA playoffs with an injury report every team desires this time of year.
“No injuries to report,” the Celtics official social media account posted Saturday ahead of Boston’s first-round series against the Orlando Magic.
Celtics star Jaylen Brown was the biggest question mark in recent weeks. Brown dealt with a right knee injury during the final stretch of the regular season, but insists he is ready to go.
“I’m not here to talk about my knee,” Brown told reporters Saturday, Celtics reporter Taylor Snow. “It is what it is, and I’m just focused on Orlando.”
The four-time NBA All-Star did not play the final three games of the season with Boston’s playoff seeding more or less set in stone. Brown hasn’t played more than 30 minutes since mid-March.
Celtics coaches and teammates don’t seem concerned.
“He’s looked good to me,” Jrue Holiday told reporters, per Snow. “I think JB is just gonna be JB in terms of not showing weakness. Everything is about not showing weakness, for him, and to be able to be the strongest mentally and physically. So nobody’s worried about him. We all know that he wants to be on the court every time we play, and we also know he’s going to be prepared when the time comes.”
The Celtics host the Magic in Game 1 of their first-round series Sunday afternoon.
