Daniel Levy makes big Destiny Udogie decision ahead of Tottenham transfer window
Daniel Levy’s stance on Destiny Udogie’s Tottenham future has been revealed, amidst links with a potential Manchester City transfer.
Earlier last week, it was revealed by Fabrizio Romano that Manchester City have shown interest in Tottenham Hotspur full-back Destiny Udogie.
It was reported that the defender’s experience in the Premier League and his ability to play on either flank are qualities that those at Manchester City admire.
Since those reports emerged, Spurs fans have voiced their opinion, with a section of the Tottenham fanbase open to seeing Udogie sold.
In fact, price tags ranging between £50 million and £100 million have been thrown around. It was also revealed last week that Tottenham Hotspur aren’t open to letting Destiny Udogie go, with the club viewing him as a central part of Ange Postecoglou’s tactical system.
Daniel Levy wants a massive fee for Udogie
GIVEMESPORT have now revealed Daniel Levy’s stance on Manchester City’s interest in Destiny Udogie.
According to the publication, the Premier League champions would need to stump up a fortune to even tempt the Spurs chairman into discussions.
Selling Udogie to a direct rival simply isn’t on the agenda at Tottenham. The report claims Manchester City’s chances of securing Udogie’s signature are slim, with Levy not keen on strengthening a title challenger.
It’s understood that the only way Spurs would entertain a sale is if Levy manages to inflate the valuation and extract a massive transfer fee for the 22-year-old.
Tottenham need to fend off Juventus as interest in Destiny Udogie grows
Of course, while Spurs have no interest in selling to a direct rival, it’s worth noting that Manchester City aren’t the only club circling.
GIVEMESPORT have reported that Serie A giants Juventus are keeping a close eye on Udogie’s situation ahead of the summer transfer window.
That said, Juventus are publicly playing down any interest in the Italy international for now.
It has also been stated that Manchester City’s other full-back target is Juventus star Andrea Cambiaso, and if a move materialises there, it could open the door for Juve to pursue Udogie as a replacement.
However, The Old Lady also has an eye on Girona’s Miguel Gutierrez, who is understood to be their priority target.
