Magic Magnus – Spiders loan report, April 12, 2024
Magnus MacKenzie struck the winner as Alloa kept up their chase for a promotion play-off spot in League One.
The left-back netted at the start of the second half as the Wasps defeated Annan Athletic 1-0.
The result keeps Andy Graham’s team on the tail of fourth-placed Queen of the South and two points from third with three games left of the league campaign.
Mackenzie had been joined in Clackmannanshire by Tyreece McDonnell earlier this season, but injury meant he returned to the Spiders last month.
In League Two Sam Kane and Lewis Reid came face to face with Queen’s Park team-mate Ricky Waugh when Stranraer travelled to Stirling Albion.
The duo were on the receiving end of a defeat though as Waugh laid on the third for Ryan Shanley in a 3-1 win for the home team.
At Clyde, Jamie Bradley started the Bully Wee’s 1-1 draw with Forfar which keeps the Angus side in ninth, but was substituted midway through the second half – replaced by ex-Spiders striker Scott Williamson.
In the Lowland League, Alex Fairlie and Broomhill went down 3-2 at Gala Fairydean Rovers and the news was not any better further down the pyramid as Archie Graham and Darvel were on the receiving end of a 3-0 home defeat to Beith in the the West of Scotland Premier League.
