Man Utd now prepared to make offer to sign £52m star, he could replace Casemiro

0 7

Manchester United are front-runners to sign one of Atalanta’s leading stars this summer.

The Red Devils are poised to make multiple additions to the squad during the summer transfer window.

A marquee striker could be prioritised due to the poor form of Rasmus Hojlund.

A midfielder could also be on their wishlist, as Christian Eriksen is expected to leave on a free transfer.

Casemiro’s future is also uncertain. United could cash in on him with his contract expiring next year.

Amidst this, Tuttomercatoweb claim that United have a ‘strong’ and ‘concrete’ interest in signing midfielder Ederson from Atalanta this summer.

The Red Devils have been long linked with the former Salernitana man. The Italian outlet claim that an offer is expected from the club in the coming weeks.

Atalanta want at least €60 million (£52m) to part ways with the 25-year-old, who has turned down a new contract beyond June 2027.

Ederson has his sights on moving to a more prestigious club, probably in the Premier League.

Ederson could fill void left by Eriksen & Casemiro

Eriksen is poised to leave United when his contract expires on June 30. Casemiro could follow him through the exit door despite his recent good form.

The 33-year-old has impressed over the past few games under manager Ruben Amorim, but the hierarchy could capitalise on this to secure a decent fee this summer.

Casemiro reportedly has an interest in moving to the Saudi Pro League. United will hope to recoup at least £25-30m if there is an offer from any Saudi outfit.

Ederson would be a fine player to fill the void left by Eriksen and Casemiro. The Brazilian is comfortable playing from the central and defensive midfield positions.

The 25-year-old has completed 88 percent of his passes in Serie A this campaign, with an average of 5.2 recoveries and 1.5 tackles. He has won 55 percent of his duels.

Ederson has excelled with his tireless work rate and high pressing. He would be an upgrade on Casemiro, who has struggled with lesser mobility over the last 18 months.
