Man United plot fantastic £92.5m raid for Premier League proven stars

0 6

Manchester United are expected to revamp their squad after a turbulent 2024-25 campaign.

According to The Athletic, Man United are eyeing an ambitious double swoop for Liam Delap and Matheus Cunha to inject fresh firepower up front.

‘Signing both forwards is viewed as plausible’ if the Red Devils can raise funds by offloading out-of-favour players clogging up the wage bill.

United’s biggest weakness has been the lack of goals and manager Ruben Amorim knows he must bring more quality to the final third if he is to steer the ship back on course.

High hopes were pinned on Rasmus Hojlund, but the young striker has failed to deliver.

He has netted merely three goals in 26 Premier League games this term.

He has scored only once in 2025, leaving United with no choice but to dive into the transfer market for a third straight window in search of a reliable finisher.

Joshua Zirkzee has shown flashes of promise but has thrived more as a creative number 10 than a traditional number 9.

His lack of pace has further highlighted United’s need for a more explosive presence up front.

Delap could be lured to the Theatre of Dreams for a modest fee of just £30 million.

They have to pay a premium price of around £56m to bring Victor Osimhen to United.

United could consider triggering the £62.5m release clause for Cunha, potentially landing both targets if they can secure smart sales elsewhere.

The Red Devils aim to generate funds by selling Marcus Rashford, Antony and Jadon Sancho.

Christian Eriksen, Tom Heaton, Jonny Evans and Victor Lindelof are expected to leave after their contracts expire in the summer.

Signing Delap or Cunha won’t come easily, with several Premier League rivals also circling.

This summer will be the first true test of Sir Jim Ratcliffe and his assembled football leadership team.
