Dejan Kulusevski injury update ahead of Tottenham’s Europa League quarterfinal

0 10

There has been an update on the injury status of Tottenham’s Dejan Kulusevski and Kevin Danso ahead of the Lilywhites’ all-important Europe League quarterfinal showdown against Eintracht Frankfurt.

It would not be an exaggeration to say that the long-term future of Tottenham Hotspur depends a great deal on how they do in the Europa League.

Apart from the fact that Europa League success is expected to have an impact on Ange Postecoglou’s future, qualifying for the Champions League will also bring extra revenue into the club and make them a more attractive destination for potential targets, thus making their rebuild much easier.

While Tottenham’s injury situation is certainly much better than it was a few months ago, they are still missing some key men ahead of the game, and there has now been an update on their fitness ahead of Thursday’s first leg.

Tottenham missing Dejan Kulusevski and Kevin Danso

Dejan Kulusevski has been out of action since February with a foot injury and the Swede has not been spotted in training videos recently, which potentially suggests that his return is not near.

The Standard have now said that Kulusevski is “progressing well” but Thursday’s first leg against Eintracht Frankfurt at home has come too quickly for him.

The former Juventus man is not expected to be part of the matchday squad, and neither is Kevin Danso, who continues to recover from a thigh injury that has kept him out of action since the start of February.

Meanwhile, Radu Dragusin is not expected to be back on the pitch until next season after going under the knife for an ACL injury he picked up in January.

Eintracht Frankfurt will be without the key man on Thursday

Frankfurt will undoubtedly pose a major challenge to Ange Postecoglou’s side as they currently sit third in the Bundesliga table behind Bayern Munich and Bayer Leverkusen.

However, Tottenham’s opponents will not be at full strength on Thursday either as Frankfurt’s number one Kevin Trapp is expected to miss the first leg.
