A fresh report has shed light on what is going through Cristian Romero’s head at the moment as Tottenham Hotspur continue to be mired in midtable and Atletico Madrid step forward with their interest in the centre-back.
It has been widely reported over recent days that Romero is ready to join Atletico Madrid in the summer after recently speaking with Diego Simeone regarding the possibility.
Some sources have even claimed that Tottenham are now ready to listen to offers for Romero this summer despite previously adopting a hardline stance on the player.
A fresh update has now revealed what the centre-back’s ambitions are, and it does not bode well for Spurs’ chances of hanging onto their star man.

Football Insider have now become the latest outlet to say that a move to the Spanish capital would appeal to Romero, who has just two years left to run on his deal with Tottenham Hotspur.
The report claims that the 26-year-old could push for an exit from the North London club if and when Simeone’s men make an official move.
The World Cup winner reportedly wants to play Champions League football regularly and wants to fight for major honours, and he does not think Spurs may be able to fulfil those ambitions.
Unless something drastic changes over the next couple of months, it looks like the centre-back and Tottenham may be set for a parting of ways this summer.
Daniel Levy could have an influence on Romero’s future
It does seem like the Tottenham vice-captain may have his heart set on a move to Atletico but that does not mean that the La Liga giants are going to find it easy to agree a deal.
