Tottenham sources perform U-turn on Ange Postecoglou’s future at the club
There is reportedly a change in the feeling at Tottenham over Ange Postecoglou’s future, with some figures at the club no longer sure that the Australian will remain in charge until the end of the season.
Going into the game against Chelsea, some sources were reporting that no matter what happens in the Europa League, Postecoglou is likely to be sacked at the end of the season.
Various outlets over recent days have continued to insist that Tottenham will not make a managerial change until the summer, with the Australian expected to be given a chance to break the club’s trophy drought.
However, a fresh report has claimed that the feeling around the 59-year-old’s future at Hotspur Way is now starting to change after what went on at Stamford Bridge on Thursday.
Postecoglou may not get a Europa League lifeline
GiveMeSport claim that following Tottenham’s loss at Stamford Bridge, and Postecoglou’s controversial gesture to the Spurs fans, the Australian’s tenure has been plunged into ‘its deepest crisis yet’.
The club’s stance so far has been that winning the Europa League would salvage Tottenham’s season but ‘even that lifeline is beginning to unravel’.
While the assumption previously was that Ange Postecoglou would remain in charge until the summer, some sources at Tottenham are no longer so sure that he will hang on that long.
The mood around the 59-year-old’s tenure is now shifting, with some figures at the club, who were previously confident that he would see out the season, now slightly hesitant to confirm.

Why Tottenham will not want to sack Ange Postecoglou yet
The Europa League is clearly the main focus of everyone at Tottenham at the moment, including the club’s hierarchy.
Daniel Levy and the Tottenham board perhaps feel that sacking Ange Postecoglou at this stage of the season could hinder the club’s chances of lifting the trophy as the Australian clearly still has not lost the dressing room.
However, in some respects, Postecoglou’s record is now the worst of any Spurs manager in nearly 50 years, and at this point, it is difficult to see how sacking him could make things any worse.
