Tottenham handed fresh hopes of Fabio Paratici return as AC Milan deal stalls
Tottenham Hotspur’s chances of a shock Fabio Paratici return have been handed a fresh boost, with AC Milan now reportedly considering pulling the plug on their pursuit of the former Spurs man.
The Fabio Paratici saga has been anything but straightforward, with twist after twist continuing to emerge around his future.
Not too long ago, reports began doing the rounds suggesting that the ex-Spurs director, whose ban from football is set to expire this summer following alleged financial irregularities at Juventus, could be heading back to north London.
One report claimed Fabio Paratici was so close to a Tottenham return that he was already talking to the Premier League club about new summer signings.
However, those rumours were quickly played down, with The Telegraph reporting that no contact had been made between Tottenham and Paratici at that point.
AC Milan deal with Paratici on the verge of collapse
Just a few days ago, an Italian outlet reported that Fabio Paratici to AC Milan was more or less a done deal and could be announced within days.
However, fresh reports out of Italy—this time from Gazzetta dello Sport journalist Luca Bianchin—now suggest Milan could be set to walk away from the deal due to unresolved legal concerns surrounding the former Spurs man.
It’s claimed that Milan CEO Giorgio Furlani had already struck an agreement for Paratici to become the club’s new sporting director for the 2025–26 campaign, but those plans now appear to be on shaky ground and could collapse altogether.
Fabio Paratici return to Tottenham still possible
For Spurs, this is clearly good news, as it keeps the door open for a possible Paratici return if Milan step away from the deal altogether.
Milan were expected to appoint a new director with deep ties to Serie A and a strong understanding of Italian football—Paratici ticks both boxes, which made him an ideal candidate for the Rossoneri.
However, with his suspension set to officially end on 30 July, from that date on, Paratici would be eligible to join any club of his choice, which still leaves some time for things to shift once more.
