93% passing, 100% long balls, 3/3 tackles: £46m star was United's stand-out player vs Nottingham Forest

0 2

Manchester United suffered a 1-0 loss to Nottingham Forest in the Premier League on Tuesday evening.

The Red Devils have failed to win back-to-back league games this campaign.

The trend continued at City Ground as they were unable to find the back of the net.

Anthony Elanga scored the only goal in the fifth minute from a superb counter-attack.

However, United should have done better. Noussair Mazraoui should have fouled Elanga, who was afforded to run 85 metres before converting beyond Andre Onana.

Looking at the positives, Leny Yoro was brilliant in the back three for United. The Frenchman had a passing accuracy of 93 percent with 100 percent long balls completed.

The 19-year-old also won 100 percent of his tackles (3/3) against Forest, including a late ditch challenge on Elanga. The Swede would have been through on goal otherwise.

The £46 million-rated star made his comeback from a foot injury in impressive fashion. It was an almost flawless performance, but he was unfortunate to be on the losing side.

United built up momentum before the international break with back-to-back wins but failed to find a way past the Forest backline. Murillo made a sublime goalline clearance in stoppage time.

The Red Devils remain 13th in the table with 37 points but could drop to 15th if Tottenham Hotspur and Everton were to pick up victories against Chelsea and Liverpool respectively.

United have a huge Manchester derby at home against Manchester City this weekend. They must return to winning ways ahead of the first leg of the Europa League quarter-final against Lyon.

The club need form and momentum before their trip to the Groupama Stadium.
