Tottenham sign exciting talent to new contract despite Man City interest
Fabrizio Romano has revealed that one highly sought-after Tottenham academy teenager has now committed his future to the North London club.
Tottenham Hotspur are blessed with some fantastic young talent, not only in their first-team but in the Under-21s and Under-18s set-up as well.
One man who has got many people excited is midfielder Callum Olusesi, who has impressed in Premier League 2 this season, with four goals from just nine appearances.
The 18-year-old made his senior debut for Spurs as a second-half substitute away against Hoffenheim in the UEFA Europa League back in January, and he has also been named on the bench in the Premier League by Ange Postecoglou.
Callum Olusesi signs new contract with Tottenham
It was previously revealed by Alasdair Gold that Callum Olusesi was on the radar of Manchester City, who were keeping a keen eye on his development.
However, Fabrizio Romano has now taken to social media to confirm that Tottenham have successfully been able to ward off the interest in the central midfielder and tie him down to a new contract.
The journalist stated that Olusesi has now signed a new three-year deal at Hotspur Way, which has made him one of the highest earners in the club’s academy.
What Spurs academy coaches have said about Olusesi
Tottenham’s former academy coach Yaya Toure recently showered praise on Olusesi and his talent after the youngster made his senior for Spurs.
Club legend and another former academy coach, Jermain Defoe also named Olusesi as one to watch over the coming years, remarking that the teenager has huge potential.
