In Jan they were turning down bids because they didn't want to lose their star striker so late in the window without the time to replace him, and also didn't want to lose him mid season when they were sitting in the automatic spots.
Luton were also desperate for a striker in January to ward off the threat of a double relegation, and had just hired the manager who had managed Kone for the first half of the season.
Kone will be much more easily wrenched from Wycombe in the summer if they don't go up, especially as he'll have only 1 year left on his contract.
I'd happily take Kone and Poku from this league. They're exactly what we need.
