There had been whispers about Spurs touring Asia, with reports even suggesting the possibility of a North London derby abroad.

Talks of a pre-season showdown against Arsenal had gained traction, while rumours also linked Liverpool, Newcastle, and AC Milan to the Asia tour.

Well, it’s now official. On the club’s official website, it has been announced that Tottenham Hotspur will be heading to Asia this summer with Hong Kong as their destination of choice for a well-known clash..

Adding to the excitement, the Tottenham will play Arsenal in Hong Kong as part of the pre-season tour.

The highly anticipated fixture is scheduled for Thursday, 31 July 2025 with kick-off at 7:30pm local time, at the newly opened 50,000-seater Kai Tak Stadium, an impressive venue which opened in March 2025.

This marks a historic moment for Tottenham, as it will be the first time the club has faced their North London rivals outside the United Kingdom.

The clash is set to be a key highlight of the Hong Kong Football Festival 2025 (HKFF), making it a must-watch occasion for fans across the globe.

Spurs have also confirmed that members of the club’s official supporters’ groups in Hong Kong will receive an exclusive link to access tickets for the match, ensuring that local fans get priority for the landmark fixture.

An open training session has been scheduled for Tuesday, 29 July, ahead of the big game, with ticket details to be released soon.

Speaking on the announcement, Tottenham’s Chief Revenue Officer Ryan Norys expressed the club’s excitement about bringing such a significant fixture to Asia: “There are few bigger occasions in English football than a North London Derby, and to play this fixture in Hong Kong will be a huge occasion for our passionate fanbase across Asia, as well as providing ideal preparation for the team ahead of the new season.

“As is tour tradition, the club will be involved in so much more than the match itself when we visit, supporting charitable causes, celebrating local culture, delivering football clinics for young people, and engaging with fans and partners. We cannot wait to visit such a beautiful place once again.”
