Tottenham and Arsenal learn how much Hugo Larsson will cost this summer
Tottenham Hotspur face competition from three of their Premier League rivals for Hugo Larsson this summer, and they have to spend a huge outlay to sign the player.
Yves Bissouma’s time at Spurs is expected to come to an end this summer, and one would thus expect the Lilywhites to enter the market for a midfielder.
One of the options on Tottenham Hotspur’s radar is 20-year-old defensive midfielder Hugo Larsson, whose reputation is soaring in German football.
It has been reported by a few outlets over the last month that Spurs have expressed interest in a deal for Eintracht Frankfurt’s Larsson. A fresh update has now revealed the latest developments in the race for the Swede.
Tottenham have to spend big on Hugo Larsson
Sky Germany reporter Florian Plettenberg has taken to social media to back up Tottenham’s interest in Larsson, but he adds that the Lilywhites face competition from Manchester City, Liverpool and Arsenal, as well as several top Bundesliga teams.
The journalist reveals that Man City have even held initial talks with Frankfurt over a deal for the midfielder ahead of the summer.
Plettenberg adds that the Bundesliga club want ‘at least €60m’ (£50.1m) in order to sell their prized asset at the end of the season.
Who are the other midfielders on Spurs’ radar?
Larsson is far from the only young, talented midfielder who has been linked with a move to N17 over recent weeks.
Spurs are reportedly looking at Crystal Palace’s Adam Wharton as a big-money option in the middle of the park while Angel Gomes has also been named as a free transfer target for Tottenham.
Additionally, Tottenham have a £21m option to buy Johnny Cardoso from Real Betis this summer.
