Daniel Levy makes it his personal mission to sign £100m star for Tottenham
Daniel Levy is determined to ensure that Tottenham Hotspur are able to beat out the competition for one Premier League winger, with the Spurs chairman hopeful of being able to sign the player for less than half of his valuation.
It does not come as a surprise to hear that Tottenham Hotspur are looking at potential options to bolster their attack this summer, given that the Lilywhites’ forward line has misfired at times this season.
It has been widely reported over recent weeks that Spurs have begun working on a deal for Tyler Dibling, with the North London club keen to steal a march on the winger’s other suitors.
However, it was reported a couple of days ago that Southampton had put Dibling’s asking price at £100m, which has left Tottenham frustrated.
Daniel Levy is determined to bring Tyler Dibling to Tottenham
A report in GiveMeSport has backed up the claim about Southampton’s £100m valuation of the 19-year-old but says that Daniel Levy is determined to deliver the attacker for a cheaper fee.
The outlet claims that Levy has made it his personal mission to ensure that Tyler Dibling arrives at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium this summer.
The Spurs chairman is said to be ‘playing a leading role’ in the pursuit of an agreement after working on a deal for several weeks. Levy is thought to be confident that there is ‘room for negotiation’ as the winger has just two years left to run on his deal at St Mary’s.
How much is Daniel Levy willing to pay for Dibling?
GiveMeSport explain that Southampton have set their initial asking price so high as they are aware that Tottenham and other admirers will try to drive the price down.
The Saints are expected to come to the negotiating table and lower their demands, particularly since their relegation from the Premier League has been all but confirmed.
The publication adds that Tottenham ‘are not convinced that they should pay more than £40m’ for Dibling and they will tempt Southampton into agreeing terms.
