Tottenham to battle Aston Villa and Arsenal for Serie A star with £43m release clause
Tottenham Hotspur have a major ‘opportunity’ to sign the second leading scorer in the Serie A this season, but they will have to contend with competition from two of their Premier League rivals for the player.
With Richarlison expected to leave Tottenham this summer and with reports indicating that Heung-min Son’s future at Spurs is uncertain, the North London club are expected to add more firepower to their forward line this summer.
One man who has reportedly caught their eye is a Serie A marksman who has found the back of the net 20 times across all competitions so far this season.
It was reported last month that Moise Kean’s performances in Florence have caught Tottenham’s attention, with the North London club said to have been impressed with the way the forward has developed his swapping the Allianz Stadium for the Artemio Franchi Stadium last summer.
Moise Kean’s release clause gives Tottenham an opportunity
According to a report in La Nazione (as relayed by ViolaNews), not only Tottenham Hotspur but also Arsenal and Aston Villa have expressed interest in the former Everton striker ahead of the summer.
The Premier League trio have a major ‘opportunity’ as Kean’s contract has a release clause of €52m (£43.4m).
Fiorentina are trying to tie down the centre-forward to a new contract and increase his release clause but their efforts have failed so far.
If Kean does not put pen to paper on a new deal with Viola before the summer, Tottenham and their two other Premier League rivals will have an ‘opportunity to pounce’.
Why Moise Kean fits the bill for Tottenham
Ange Postecoglou would ideally want to sign a versatile forward who can operate across the front three to replace Richarlison.
The Australian might not be too keen on signing an out-and-out number nine like Liam Delap or Dusan Vlahovic.
Kean would thus be a perfect fit for Spurs and the fact that the striker has Premier League experience under his belt would also make him a very tempting option indeed for the Lilywhites.
