Tottenham could receive bid from Aston Villa for out-of-favour midfielder
Aston Villa are plotting a surprise move for a struggling Tottenham man, with Unai Emery being backed to revive the player’s career after his regression at the North London club.
A number of potential exits could be on the cards from Spurs this summer, the most high-profile of which could be Yves Bissouma, who has been in woeful form of late.
The Mali international has been substituted at half-time in each of his last five starts and Ange Postecoglou has admitted that he expects more from Bissouma.
The 28-year-old enters the final year of his contract this June and it has been reported over recent weeks that Tottenham are expected to cash in on Bissouma at the end of the campaign.
Aston Villa plotting move for Yves Bissouma
GiveMeSport have now claimed that the Malian has emerged as a surprise target for Aston Villa ahead of the summer.
The Midlands club are said to be keen on adding more depth to their midfield as they do not want to stay stagnant. The have now allegedly identified the Spurs man as someone who fits the bill.
The outlet points out that Unai Emery has managed to revive the careers of Marco Asensio and Marcus Rashford, and would fancy doing the same with Bissouma.
Bissouma also has other offers as Tottenham exit draws closer
GiveMeSport add that as things stand, Tottenham are ‘increasingly likely’ to cash in on the former Brighton man.
It is said that Tottenham will be keen to get Bissouma’s £100,000 per week salary off their wage bill as Postecoglou has grown ‘increasingly frustrated’ with the midfielder’s performance.
Interestingly, it is revealed that the experienced Spurs man also has offers to return to Ligue 1, where he first made his name before his switch to the Premier League.
