Tottenham could battle Arsenal and Liverpool for winger with 22 goal contributions

Tottenham Hotspur have set their sights on one of the most highly rated attackers in the Portuguese top-flight, but the Lilywhites will have to overcome competition from five of their ‘big six’ rivals to sign the player.

We are still a fair distance away from the summer transfer window and Spurs still have some big issues to iron out before then.

One of them is the future of their head coach, with reports indicating that Tottenham will make a decision on Ange Postecoglou’s future during their end-of-season review.

However, it turns out that the club have already started working on potential targets for the summer, and they have now set their sights on an exciting Portugal international.

Tottenham set to battle Premier League rivals for Francisco Trincao

TBR Football claim that Tottenham Hotspur are closely monitoring the performances of Sporting Lisbon star Francisco Trincao ahead of the summer window.

The versatile attacker, who can play on either flank or as a number ten, has scored nine goals and provided 13 assists across all competitions so far this season.

Tottenham are not the only ones interested, with Arsenal and Liverpool also said to be keeping an eye on Trincao’s performances at the Jose Alvalade Stadium.

However, the clubs who have shown the most interest in the attacker are Man Utd and Man City, with Ruben Amorim keen on reuniting with the winger at Old Trafford, while City sporting director Hugo Viana is also a big fan of the player.

Sporting Lisbon will fight to keep hold of Francisco Trincao

Sporting have shown over recent years that they tend to drive a hard bargain, with the Portuguese giants charging top dollar for their best players.

Spurs found that out during their negotiations over Pedro Porro, and they might find it similarly challenging to strike a deal for Trincao.

This is because TBR Football say that Sporting are keen to keep hold of the Portuguese international and are hoping to tie him to a new contract before the summer.
