Tottenham handed affordable price tag for Bournemouth’s Antoine Semenyo
Bournemouth’s in-form winger, Antoine Semenyo, has caught the eye of Tottenham, but they are not alone in the chase. With Napoli and Chelsea also keen, the battle for his signature is set to intensify, and the Cherries will not let him go on the cheap.
Bournemouth have been one of the Premier League’s surprise packages this season, finding themselves in ninth place, just three points off fifth, and firmly in contention for European football. And with strong performances come transfer interest.
Among their standout players, Semenyo has drawn significant attention. The Ghanaian winger has been a crucial figure for Andoni Iraola’s side, featuring in 31 matches and contributing nine goals and five assists.
Given his impressive displays, it was no surprise when reports surfaced earlier this week claiming Tottenham had earmarked Semenyo as a “top target” for the summer window.
The North London club are expected to test Bournemouth’s resolve with a bid once the market opens, but they will face stiff competition for his services.
Tottenham and Chelsea prepared to meet Bournemouth’s asking price for Antoine Semenyo
Fresh reports from Area Napoli have now shed light on Bournemouth’s valuation of Semenyo, with the Cherries demanding between €40-50m (£34m-£42m) for their in-demand forward.
Napoli, under former Tottenham boss Antonio Conte, are reportedly keen on the Ghanaian and are considering a move ahead of the summer.
Chelsea and Tottenham also remain in the mix, with English sources stating both clubs have “no problem” putting down significant money to secure the versatile forward.
With multiple teams willing to meet Bournemouth’s valuation, negotiations could get interesting in the coming months.
Napoli and Tottenham’s previous dealings with Bournemouth
Napoli have maintained a strong relationship with Bournemouth, having done business with them in recent transfer windows.
The Serie A side signed Philip Billing and Hamed Traorè on loan in the last two winter windows, strengthening ties between the clubs. However, this will not be enough to secure a discount for Semenyo, according to the report.
Spurs, on the other hand, also have experience dealing with Bournemouth. They landed their main striker, Dominic Solanke, last summer in a £60m deal, which could play in their favour should they pursue Semenyo seriously.
Whether these relationships will influence negotiations remains to be seen, but one thing is certain – Bournemouth hold the upper hand with their prized asset.
