Man Utd now want to sign "extraordinary" £34m striker, 2 conditions need to be fulfilled - report

Manchester United are looking to sign one of Juventus’ best players during the summer transfer window, according to Italian outlet Tuttosport.

The Red Devils are expected to bolster their attack at the end of the campaign with several forward players poised to leave.

Jadon Sancho is set to join Chelsea permanently after his year-long loan. Aston Villa could also trigger the option to purchase Marcus Rashford after his temporary move.

Antony, presently on loan with Real Betis in the Spanish top-flight, could likewise be offloaded. The Red Devils could capitalise on his form to secure a decent fee.

United could eye a marquee striker with the funds recouped, and Tuttosport claim that the club are interested in securing the services of Vlahovic from the Bianconeri.

However, the Serbian star is not convinced about a move to Old Trafford. Vlahovic wants to play Champions League football and intends to compete at the top level.

On top of this, the former Fiorentina man will hold out for his current wages. He will reportedly earn around €240,000 (£200,000) per week in the final year of his contract at Juventus.

Champions League could be key to big spending spree

The Red Devils progressed to the last eight of the Europa League after beating Real Sociedad yesterday.

United are scheduled to face Lyon in the quarter-final stage. If they beat Les Gones, the club could face either Athletic Bilbao or Rangers in the semi-final.

A final against Tottenham Hotspur, Eintracht Frankfurt or Lazio could be on the cards.

The club face a difficult challenge but the title should be achievable if they can play at their best. We have seen United rise to the challenge to beat Arsenal and Manchester City this season.

If United were to qualify for the Champions League, it could pave the way for a huge spending spree, given the extra revenue from their participation in the competition next term.

Vlahovic, described as ‘extraordinary‘ by Federico Bernardeschi, should be tempted to join if United secure their Champions League status.

The former Fiorentina man has 14 goals this season. He is strong with his hold-up play. His better positional sense in the box makes him an upgrade on Rasmus Hojlund and Joshua Zirkzee.

He has a Transfermarkt value of €60 million (£50m) but could be signed for less. TuttoJuve claim that he could be purchased for €40m (£34m).

The Bianconeri are said to be desperate to sanction his sale as he has no plans to extend his contract beyond June 2026.
