Why Red Sox Should Already Appreciate Added Pitching Depth

The Boston Red Sox added both talent and depth to their pitching staff throughout the offseason. That’s already proving to be essential in spring training.

Brayan Bello and Kutter Crawford are both behind while Lucas Giolito left his first start of the spring Tuesday for the Red Sox with a hamstring injury. For Boston’s sake, there’s plenty of depth starters in Richard Fitts, Quinn Priester and Hunter Dobbins who can make the step up to the rotation behind reigning All-Star Tanner Houck and new additions Garrett Crochet and Walker Buehler.

NESN’s Tom Caron chatted about the topic on the “310 To Left” with former Red Sox infielder Will Middlebrooks and The Boston Globe’s Alex Speier.

Giolito, Richard Fitts and Liam Hendriks also stop by for their thoughts on their spring training progressions for the Red Sox.

You can catch this edition of the “310 To Left” podcast on YouTube or on Spotify.
