A Letter from CEO Kim Stone
Dear Spirit Investors,
I am thrilled to reach out today as we begin an exciting 2025 NWSL season with hardware already in hand! Our team secured the 2025 NWSL Challenge Cup last Friday with a victory over the Orlando Pride in a compelling rematch of last season’s Championship final.
This Challenge Cup win marks just the second trophy in our club’s 13-year history, joining our 2021 NWSL Championship. Coach Jona Giraldez is beginning his first full season at the helm, providing strong direction and vision for our technical leadership. The benefits of having our coaching staff in place from day one are evident in the way we played in Orlando.
We’ve strengthened our roster with several international stars, including Mexico’s national team captain, Rebeca Bernal, whose leadership, and technical ability have already made a significant impact. These acquisitions, combined with our returning talent, position us to compete for multiple trophies.
As we open our regular season this Friday at 8pm against the Houston Dash, which you can watch live on NWSL, we do so as Challenge Cup champions with genuine championship aspirations.
If you haven’t already, I encourage you to watch the Prime Video docuseries “For the Win: NWSL” to gain insight into our league’s remarkable growth.
Your support and belief in our vision have been instrumental. I look forward to sharing more successes with you throughout this memorable campaign.
Let’s go Spirit,
Kim
