Tottenham step up efforts to beat Liverpool to Lamine Camara
Tottenham Hotspur have reportedly intensified their efforts to sign a highly rated Ligue 1 midfielder, with the Lilywhites now attempting to beat Liverpool to the services of the youngster.
Tottenham are expected to be in the market for a midfielder this summer as it has been widely reported over recent weeks that Yves Bissouma’s time at Spurs is expected to come to an end this summer.
Earlier this week, some sources suggested that Tottenham have turned their attention to Monaco midfielder Lamine Camara, who is continuing to win admirers with his impressive displays in Ligue 1.
The Lilywhites have now been joined in the race for the 21-year-old by another Premier League giant, but Postecoglou’s men are determined to win the race for the player.

This update comes from CaughtOffside, who say that Camara has been scouted by Spurs, Liverpool, Chelsea, Real Madrid and Bayern Munich so far this season.
Tottenham like what they have seen from the Senegal international, as have Liverpool, who have now become the latest club to enter the race.
However, this has not put off Spurs, who are now ‘stepping up their interest’ in the Monaco man and are considering ‘making an approach soon’ for the player.
The publication adds that the French club value their young midfielder starlet at around €45m-€50m (£37.8m-£42m) as things stand.
Spurs will be tempted to go for a cheaper La Liga option
While it seems clear that Tottenham need to strengthen in the middle of the park, they would be tempted to raid La Liga for an all-action midfielder whose reputation is blossoming.
Spurs have a £21m option to buy Johnny Cardoso from Real Betis in the summer, and in light of the 23-year-old’s form over recent months, the decision makers at Hotspur Way may find it difficult to look at other midfielder alternatives.
In fact, it was reported just a couple of days ago that Tottenham are confident that Cardoso will prove an astute investment.
