FA Women’s National League One (South-East)

Team: Wiggins, Cooper, Searle, Randall, Lewin, Blodgett, Goddard, Hill, Stanley, Dzyadyk, McCrea

Attendance: 115

On a sunny afternoon at the Meadow, it was Gemma Fraser who forced a save from the Rangers keeper after eight minutes.

Whilst for the R’s, Jo Blodgett’s pass out to Annie Dzyadyk resulted in the QPR winger crossing the ball into the box, but somehow it evaded two of her team-mates.

Rangers’ first attempt at goal came from Georgie Lewin following a corner. Her shot narrowly evaded the upright.

The Chesham keeper made an outstanding save when she dived backwards to tip Ashleigh Goddard’s shot over the crossbar.

Thirty minutes in, and Ellie Searle and Jess Cooper briefly switched sides.

Eight minutes later, Ellie Searle’s strike at goal didn’t trouble the keeper, and at half-time it remained goal-less.

Two minutes into the second-half, and Rangers went close to taking the lead. Jo Blodgett’s attempt was blocked and Renai McCrea’s follow-up cleared the crossbar.

After a big scramble in the box, Jo Blodgett cleared the ball off the line and the resulting shot ended up wide of the target.

Ellie Searle superbly evaded two defenders close to the bye-line but it came to nothing.

Danny Harrigan’s first changes came on the hour-mark, which saw the introduction of Izzy Owen and Alana Munro at the expense of Emily Hill and Renai McCrea respectively.

Following a corner, the Chesham keeper made a brave save in the six-yard box at the feet of Annie Dzyadyk.

After 68 minutes, Annie Dzyadyk’s precise pass found Grace Stanley, whose angled shot from inside the box ended up dipping just over the crossbar.

Stevie Kennedy came on for Annie Dzyadyk after 75 minutes.

On 81 minutes, Alana Munro’s cross found Jo Blodgett inside the box, who then headed the ball just over the bar.

Four minutes later, Chloe Sampson replaced Holly Randall.

Despite the away side having the best of it, the game finished 0-0.

The R’s then went on to face Actonians a week later at the SkyEx Community Stadium.
