Tottenham fans think Dejan Kulusevski injury could be a blessing in disguise
Tottenham Hotspur fans have been sharing their thoughts on Dejan Kulusevski’s injury, and surprisingly, many believe it could actually be a blessing in disguise.
Ange Postecoglou is set to receive a significant boost ahead of Tottenham Hotspur’s Europa League tie against AZ Alkmaar, with key players Cristian Romero, Micky van de Ven, and Dominic Solanke all expected to be available for selection.
However, not all the injury news is positive. Radu Dragusin remains sidelined as he continues his recovery from an ACL injury, and more recently, Dejan Kulusevski has reportedly picked up a foot problem.
The news of Kulusevski’s setback comes via Spurs insider Paul O’Keefe, who took to social media to break the update, sparking immediate reaction from the fanbase.
Tottenham fans weigh in on Dejan Kulusevski’s absence
Following O’Keefe’s update, Spurs fans had plenty to say about their standout player missing the upcoming fixture. Interestingly, the general consensus was that the Swede’s enforced spell on the sidelines could actually be a positive development.
One fan remarked, “Good to have them back. We can do ok without Kulu for a few games.” Another, Ryan, echoed the sentiment: “To be fair, with how Kulu has been playing, being sidelined for a bit might do him the world of good.”
Eren shared a similar view, stating, “Genuinely might be the best thing to happen for Kulusevski. He desperately needed a break.“ Meanwhile, Dalper pointed out the physical toll on the winger, adding, “Was always coming with how many games he has played. Hopefully, nothing serious.”
Saiful took a more tactical view, saying, “If it is only a few weeks, then I think it could be a blessing. Ange would not rest him otherwise, and he has been poor in the last month or so. Once back, he will be like the old Kulu from the start of the season. We can still navigate our way into the quarter-finals without him.”
Ash was in agreement, adding, “Do not mind Kulu missing out, to be honest. We have Johnson and Maddison who can play in those areas now. Great news about the other three. COYS.”
Meanwhile, DeanSpurCT took a cheeky jab at the club’s medical staff, warning, “Do not let the medical team get hold of Deki; otherwise, he will be out for the rest of the season.”
When will Kulusevski return for Spurs?
While it has been confirmed that Kulusevski has suffered a knock, reports suggest he is unlikely to feature again before the international break.
This means the earliest Spurs fans can likely expect to see him back in action is after the break against Chelsea on April 3, depending on the speed of his recovery.
Postecoglou is expected to address the situation in his next press conference, where he will provide further clarity on the player’s condition. Until then, Spurs fans will be hoping the injury is nothing more than a minor setback.
