Gibb Delighted To Be Back At Hibs

0 0

Caley Gibb is "delighted" to make her Hibernian homecoming and is determined to "help the girls finish as high as possible" after re-signing for the Club.

The 21-year-old has joined on a short-term loan deal until the end of the 2024/25 season from fellow ScottishPower Women's Premier League outfit Partick Thistle.

After catching up with some familiar faces at HTC and putting pen to paper on the deal, Gibb discussed the move with HibsTV.

"I'm delighted to be here and I'm delighted to be given such a great opportunity. This is where I started, I got my SWPL debut at such a young age here through Grant [Scott]. I'll always be grateful to the Club.

"To get an opportunity now when I am more developed and feel more ready to take that bigger step, it is great. I'm hoping I can go and really help the girls finish as high as possible.

"Full-time football is something I have always wanted to do. It's been a dream of mine since I was a young girl. To get this opportunity, I knew I had to grab it with both hands.

"I'm going to give it my all for the next three months and see what I can do. I'll get in with the girls tomorrow and push on from there."

Handed her senior debut by Grant Scott during his first spell with the Club, Gibb was keen to stress how much of an impact the Hibernian Head Coach had on the deal.

"Grant was a massive influence. he was very open and honest about what he expects from me. He has made absolutely no promises.

"He has told me it is going to be tough. I'm aware of that. We have set the expectation that I am really going to have to push and develop over the next three months.

"I'm young, but experienced for my age. I'm looking to bring a bit of energy, confidence and, I like to think, I'm quite an aggressive player, so hopefully I can bring a bit of fight and desire."

That first career appearance for Hibernian came in May 2019 - as the versatile defender, aged just 15, came on as a substitute versus Motherwell in May 2019.

"It will be nice to be back. A lot has changed over the last few years. It will be different.

"I know a lot of the girls, I have played with them before either here or at different clubs. I'm looking forward to getting back with them and learning from them."
