Hungerford Town 1-1 Poole Town – Match Report

0 1

Touray header earns Poole a point at in form Hungerford!

Poole Town were on the road against the most inform side in the southern league, Hungerford Town.

Coming into the game, Hungerford had been on an unbeaten run of 9 games winning six games on the trot.

The Dolphins came into this one off the back of a cruel last minute defeat to play off placed Gloucester City last Saturday at the Black Gold.

New signing from Hampton and Richmond, Kristian Campbell was straight into the Dolphins starting 11 and Ezio Touray replaced Sam Ashton following an injury in the warm up.

The home side started brightly, creating a flurry of chances via long balls into the box and piling bodies into the box.

Their pressure payed off 15 minutes in for the hosts after Jam Smith gave away a penalty which Louis McGory dispatched.

Poole struggled to create chances in the first half but despite Hungerford’s pressure, the hosts were unable to find a second before the interval.

The second half saw Poole come out with real determination and will to attack. After a brilliant bit of individual skill from Campbell and an even better ball in, Ezio Touray was perfectly placed to nod the ball home infront of the travelling Poole fans. 1-1 with half an hour to go!

Neither side was able to create any real clear cut chances but Poole defended excellently, to earn a precious point away from home.

It’s another coach trip for the Dolphins, as we face Hanwell Town away from home this Saturday.
