Patriots Fans Will Love This Mike Vrabel Comment About Impending Rebuild

The New England Patriots haven’t won a playoff game since Super Bowl LIII.

Three consecutive playoff misses and just eight wins over the last two seasons brought New England far from the days of the dynasty. Mike Vrabel has a responsibility to restore the winning ways of his playing career as he takes over in his first season as the Patriots head coach.

Vrabel’s first offseason of roster construction is here and he knows that the urgency to field a playoff contender shortly is crucial for the Patriots.

“We have to improve,” Vrabel told reporters, per team-provided video. “I think that’s the goal. Our expectations aren’t gonna change. It’s gonna be to win the division. It’s gonna be to host home playoff games and it’s gonna be to compete for championships. We’re never going to put a timetable or any sort of prediction on when that may happen, but it has to happen.”

Will the Patriots be a playoff team in 2025? That’s a lofty expectation, though it’s also too early to tell. New England needs to at least make significant progress with roster improvements through free agency and in the draft.

“They shouldn’t have to wait very long,” Vrabel added.

The Patriots can take their first steps when the free agency tampering period opens on March 10.
