Tottenham handed major scheduling boost ahead of AZ Alkmaar clash in Europa League
Tottenham Hotspur have been handed a major scheduling boost ahead of their Europa League clash against AZ Alkmaar on Thursday, March 6.
On Friday, February 21, 2025, the draw for the knockout rounds of the UEFA Europa League took place and Tottenham were drawn against AZ Alkmaar in the round of 16.
Should they get past the Dutch side, then Ajax or Eintracht Frankfurt awaits Ange Postecoglou’s men in the quarter-finals. The semi-final though is where it gets much tougher, as there is a possibility that Spurs will face Lazio should they make it to the final four.

Winning a European competition is never easy. However, ahead of the round of 16 clash against AZ Alkamaar, Tottenham Hotspur has been handed a major scheduling boost, as they have a complete seven-day rest period.
The clash against the Dutch side in the Europa League is set to take place next week after Tottenham Hotspur’s clash against Manchester City in the Premier League.
The Lilywhites will not play on the weekend of 28 February, as they have been eliminated from the FA Cup by Aston Villa in the previous round.

Az Alkmaar’s schedule ahead of Spurs tie
Az Alkmaar on the other hand, does not have the luxury of a seven-day gap before their clash against Tottenham Hotspur.
