Why Patriots’ Mike Vrabel Has Strong Chance To Win Coach Of The Year

The Patriots hope Mike Vrabel can turn the franchise around, and the betting market also is getting ahead of the narrative.

Vrabel is expected to mold New England in his vision. That will take key decisions in free agency and the NFL draft, but the 2021 Coach of the Year will bring high expectations.

Those expectations resulted in him being the favorite to win Coach of the Year in the 2025 NFL season at 6-1. It might seem outlandish, but there is a clear case for him.

“I’m not surprised by Vrabel being one of the favorites,” NESN’s George Balekji told Travis Thomas on “Boston Has Entered The Chat.” “Everyone knows when he’s in the game as a head coach, he’s one of the best at leading a team. It’s also the landscape that he’s given. Vrabel’s really good. The Patriots have stunk. I think it’s simple storylines. They literally looked like a junior varsity team from Western Massachusetts last season. No offense to the people in the Berkshires.”

If Vrabel can double the Patriots’ win count and lead them to a wild-card berth, that would create the perfect narrative for him to win his second piece of coaching hardware. However, he needs to get it done with the right moves in the offseason.
