The Telegraph have now revealed that Premier League clubs are now considering reducing the length of the winter transfer window to just two weeks.

They are also said to be contemplating shutting the summer window before the start of the new season.

These proposals have been put forward during the talks between various top-flight clubs over the last few days, with the aim being to minimise disruption to the squads during the season.

Premier League clubs debating change ahead of potential vote

The report reveals that the directors of all 20 clubs debated the pros and cons of these proposed changes on Thursday.

The owners and the chief executives of the Premier League sides will now decide whether the new proposal will go to a vote or not.

The outlet explains that the main concern with cutting short the window is that Premier League clubs would be at a disadvantage compared to their European counterparts, who could drive a better price on deals due to having more time.
